About the organization

Building Excellence in Students Today (BEST) Brockport Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides resources to support students academically, provide classroom grants, and offer program enrichment. Our logo embodies the spirit of collaboration and teamwork that we wish to convey to students, faculty, and staff. Consider joining or supporting BEST with your time, talents, and/or resources.

Board meetings

The Foundation meets the second Monday of every month at 6 p.m. in the BCSD Board of Education Room. Brockport Central School District 40 Allen Street, Brockport, NY 14420.

Andrew Pacitto, PRESIDENT

Andy Pacitto has been a resident of Brockport for over 25 years. He and his wife Jeanne moved here shortly after their son was born in 1992. All three of their children, Jonathan, Jessica and Julia, graduated from Brockport High School. He is Past President of Brockport Rotary, Past Board Member of BISCO and the Treasurer of the Brockport Arts Festival. He served as member-at-large for the Brockport Merchants Association and has worked with the Brockport Food Shelf and Toy Shelf in the past. He is currently a High School Math Teacher in the Spencerport Central School District.

Andy received his B.B.A from St. Bonaventure University, his Masters from Roberts Wesleyan College, and is currently pursuing his Administrative Certification from SUNY Brockport.

Alicia Fink, immediate past president

For 28 years Alicia was a Spanish teacher in the Hilton, NY School System. Her interest in helping better education and in offering the students and the teachers opportunities to bring excellence in schools made her become active in the BEST in Brockport organization. Alicia is a long time resident of Brockport and her two sons are graduates of the Brockport School system. Since her retirement from teaching, Alicia has been active in several community organizations such as the Western Monroe Historical Society and Walk/Bike Brockport Action group.

Leslie Bull, Vice President

Leslie has been a resident of Brockport for 40+ years. She is also a retired BCSD Elementary/Middle school teacher. Her husband is Doug Bull who is also a retired BCSD High School science teacher. They have two sons, Dahn, 32, and Nathan, 29. Their sons are both Brockport High School graduates. Leslie is currently working at The College at Brockport State University of New York as a Field Experience Liaison.

lynn moulton, SECRETARY

Lynn Moulton is personally committed to the success of students and decided to join the BEST Foundation to help them succeed in their mission “…to provide the BEST educational environment…”. Lynn is proud to also be involved in Brockport PTSA, Genesee Valley Region PTA, Boy Scouts, and, a few years ago, youth sports and Girl Scouts. Although her degree is in chemical engineering, she currently does contract work and occasional grant writing for education-based initiatives. Let’s make sure our youth are prepared for their future!

 

JEANNE PACITTO, TREASURER

Jeanne and her husband Andy, have been Brockport residents for the past 28 years. Their three children Jonathan, Jessica and Julia graduated from Brockport Central School District, propelling her to give back to the community. The BEST Foundation’s mission to “Building Excellence in Students Today” is a belief Jeanne embraces. Currently, a school counselor in Spencerport, Jeanne has the privilege to support children’s development each day, and is grateful to serve on the BEST Foundation.




 

Paige pye, WEBMASTER

Paige is passionate about literacy in our schools as well as the belief that everyone has greatness. She is a past President of Brockport PTSA, past Literacy Specialist with NYS PTA and past PARP Chair for Genesee Valley Region PTA. She has served on the BEST Education Foundation since its inception as Secretary. Paige has resided in Brockport since 1992 with her husband, Richard.  All three children are graduates of Brockport Central; Mackenzie (’14), Madison (’16) and Matthew (’18). She is a graduate of Dickinson College and currently works as a Education Quality Partner with FranklinCovey Education.

Joan Fenton is a retired teacher from the Brockport Central School District where she also spent 10 years on the Board of Education. Currently she serves on the Alumni Board, the Multigenerational Advisory Committee, The Town/Gown Committee, and the Board of the Friends of Drake Memorial Library, all at the College at Brockport.

Richard is an emeritus faculty member at the College at Brockport where he taught 41 years in the Department of Business Administration and Economics and in Delta College.  He is on the Foundation Board of the college and also on the Multi-generational Advisory Committee, and the Town/Gown Committee.  He served on the Sweden Town Board for four years.

Ms. Josephine Matela, a former Village of Brockport Mayor, has lived with her husband Joseph A. in the village for 35 years.  She attended the State University College at Brockport and is currently the owner of The Red Bird Cafe and Gift Shop which she has operated since 2002.  A mother and grandmother she enjoys cooking, gardening and the ADKS.  “Helping students become all they can be and more is a joy.  I am proud to be a part of this fabulous organization!”

Terry ANN Carbone, President, bcsd board of education and best Liaison

Terry Ann Carbone is a graduate of SUNY Brockport receiving a BS and MS in Education and a CAS in Educational Administration. After a 42-year career in Public Education as a Kindergarten teacher, Elementary Principal and High School Principal, Mrs. Carbone retired as the Supt. of Schools for the Lockport City School District. Presently Mrs. Carbone serves as the President of the Brockport Central School Board of Education and has been a member of the Board since 2014. Terry resides in Brockport with her husband, Fred. Both of her children, Heather and Freddy, are graduates of Brockport Central and her grandsons, Toby and Jesse are in the fifth grade in Brockport.
